2023 Cal Tri Walnut Creek - 8.20.23 Olympic Triathlon - Championship Event FAQ

Cal Tri Walnut Creek - Olympic distance is the most difficult event in the Cal Tri Events series. An invite-only championship event has been created for this event with 3 ways to quality; 2022 Grand Prix USA Podium Winners, 2022 Cal Tri Walnut Creek Legacy Athletes or 2023 Cal Tri Events athletes who earn a 5% score in a single race competing in the 2023 Grand Prix USA for any of the 13 races preceding 2023 Cal Tri Walnut Creek.

Only athletes who meet one or more of the championship conditions will be invited to the Olympic Triathlon - Championship Event. All athletes are able to register for the standard Olympic event. Athletes who mistakenly register for the Olympic Triathlon - Championship Event will be switched to the standard Olympic event.
